Pamela's freelance articles regularly appear in Medical Observer, Reader's Digest and ABC Health and Wellbeing. She has also contributed to other publications including Men's Health, Health Smart and Ninemsn Health online.
Pamela has developed expertise in covering medical-political, health and family matters, but still enjoys writing about a diverse range of topics including travel, books, lifestyle and men's and women's issues.
More than just a writer, Pamela was one of the presenters of the Feature Writing for Magazines and Newspapers course at the Sydney Writers' Centre for two years. She is also a confident public speaker and appears at author events, media conferences and literary festivals as a facilitator and presenter.
Her role in media education also extends to the corporate sector. She has conducted media briefings, and written content (i.e. marketing material and Federal Parliamentary Inquiry submissions) for various companies. These companies include Aussie Home Loans, AstraZeneca Australia and Strategy First Financial Planning.
Throughout her 20-year career, Pamela has also been a reporter for the Gold Coast Bulletin, Australian Associated Press and The Daily Telegraph. She has held various positions including section editor, chief sub-editor, chief-of-staff and news and features writer.
But journalism is not Pamela's only passion. A keen traveller, she has also spent time exploring the Middle East, US, Europe and South-East Asia. She has also lived in Canada, the UK and New Zealand. But it is the travel she undertakes throughout Australia that she enjoys the most. In 2008, she and her husband and two young boys set off around Australia on a three-month, 16,000km road trip through five Australian states and territories.
When she is not travelling, Pamela enjoys spending her leisure time with her family, exercising outdoors, reading and writing for pleasure and learning the guitar. Always eager to improve her personal and professional development, Pamela is also a member of Sea Eagles Toastmasters.
